JR Water injection questions

Is it true that the JR kit cannot be used with a 50/50 water/methanol mix? Can anyone comment on the downsides to this kit? Thanks!

I've heard of people using a 70/30 mix of water/methanol with no problems. The kit works great.

Don't know about methanol, but I've always run 50/50 alcohol/water with no problems. The kit works great, easy to install, etc. Not necessary at stock boost, but at 9 psi or above, I think it's a good safeguard and potential power adder when tuned right.

You could use isopropyl, but I use denatured alcohol. Straight water is also effective. I've used the alchol hoping it helps some to make up for the 91 octane we get here.

Methanol is corrosive to Aluminum... and it eats rubber and plastic hoses. I suggest staying away from it unless you are willing to empty the resevoir EVERY time you park the car !!!

So if not methanol, what kind of alcohol do you use? Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol?

Has anyone used water injection to increase timing beyond stock (ie. past 16 degrees)? Is there any benefit to this?

hell yeah, not sure off hand what my ignition map looks like now with my new hondata tune but its definitly pretty agressive. As for before the hondata was tuned, i could run full advance on the distributor without a single ping. Just be careful though and keep an eye on the bottle because as soon as it went empty my car would start to knock.
